Marinas in Sneek

In Sneek and on the Sneekermeer, you will find many mooring spots. In Sneek, you can find the Sneeker Marina and Marina de Domp. 

The Sneeker Marina

The Sneeker Marina has approximately 35 berths for visitors along the quay of the Oudvaart. You cannot make reservations here. However, you can call the harbor master shortly before arrival to check if there is still space, use the following number: 06-15405898.

In this marina, you pay €10.00 per night for a spot with electricity for boats up to 8 meters. If the boat is larger than 8 meters, a spot including electricity costs €1.55 per meter. These prices include shower, toilet, and wifi but exclude tourist tax.

Marina de Domp

Marina De Domp is sheltered by trees, making it wonderfully wind-free, and because the marina is located in a quiet area without busy roads, you won’t be bothered by noise. Part of Marina De Domp is reserved for visitors, while another part is for permanent berths.

In this marina, you pay €1.75 per meter in high season and an energy surcharge of €4.00. These prices are exclusive of tourist tax.

Both the Sneeker Marina and Marina de Domp have a unique location close to the city center. Within 10 minutes, you can walk to the center of the beautiful old town.

Bridge operation in Sneek

The water sports season in Sneek starts around April 1 and ends around November 1. Bridges are operated from 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM. For the movable bridges in Sneek, the Oppenhuizerbrug, the Harinxmabrug, the Lemmerbrug, and the Woudvaartbrug are operated in the summer months from 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM.

In Sneek, the Zwettebrug, the Laatste Stuiverbrug, and the Koninginnebrug are not operated.

From November 1 to April 1, locks and bridges are operated upon request. If you want to use a bridge or a lock during this period, please contact Provinsje Fryslân by phone at 058-292 58 88. They are available on weekdays from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM. The website of the municipality of Súdwest Fryslân also has information about bridge operation in the rest of the municipality.

By boat to the Sneekweek

Are you going to rent a sloop during the Sneekweek? The 86th Sneekweek will be held from August 5 to 10, 2023. The Sneekweek is the largest and most enjoyable inland sailing event in Europe: the perfect combination of fun and sport. Throughout the day, there is intense sailing on the Sneekermeer, followed by socializing on the island and in the city.

The Sneekweek originated from the famous Hardzeildag. This Hardzeildag has been organized annually on a Wednesday in August since 1814. Everything that had a sail in Sneek went to the lake to celebrate this day. In 1934, the Sneekweek was organized for the first time.
