Our boats range from eight to ten meters in length and are equipped with a bow thruster, making them easy to handle. If you want to gain some extra experience before your vacation, you can book additional boating lessons. Before you depart, we’ll practice docking and maneuvering in the harbor several times. This way, we ensure that everyone confidently casts off and sets sail in a relaxed manner.
Rent a Super Favorite Cruiser
The motorboats from Sailing with Sil are mostly Super Favorite Cruisers. These boats were built in the late 1970s at the Mulder shipyard in Voorschoten. We offer boats for 2 to 4 people and boats that can accommodate up to 5 or 6 people.
Each boat is unique with its own character and layout. Some boats have a convertible roof while others have a fixed roof. There are also boats with bedrooms at the bow or at the stern. Sailing with Sil – the most enjoyable boat rental company in Friesland!
Sailing with Sil is a young and growing company. We started our boat rental business in 2020, with Lobke not remaining alone for long as our fleet has now expanded to thirteen boats. The team at Sailing with Sil has also grown. While Sil and Silke initially managed everything with the help of friends and family, now Gerrit, Jesse, Chico, and Nikki can be found at the harbor all summer long. Sil remains the creative entrepreneur, Silke handles planning and organization, and Gerrit, Jesse, and Chico manage rentals and technical aspects. Nikki is responsible for social media and the brunch baskets from Picknikki.

Sailing with Sil rents boats from Jachthaven Lunegat in Dokkumer Nieuwe Zijlen, located at the foot of the Lauwersmeer. From the marina, you can reach Dokkum or Burgumermeer within two hours by boat. You can also choose to explore the province of Groningen, sailing through the Lauwersmeer to places like Zoutkamp.
