Go on a boating holiday through Friesland with our Mare. Mare is a Super Favorite Cruiser with a bow thruster! No boating license is required!
The Story of Mare
This is Mare, our vintage pride, both inside and out. Mare is suitable for up to four adults. The name Mare is Latin for sea.
Interior
Mare is a classic boat with a vintage appearance. The wheelhouse has several seating areas so you can enjoy socializing while sailing. Inside the cabin, you’ll find a dining table and kitchenette, and the toilet is located at the front. At the back of the boat, there are two single beds. If you are more than two people, you can also convert the dining table and bench in the salon into additional sleeping spaces. Mare is also equipped with hot air heating, perfect for the spring or autumn!
The boat has several electrical outlets that you can use while sailing or when connected to shore power, for example, to charge your phone.
Mare is 9.80 meters long, 2.95 meters wide, 0.95 meters deep, and 2.30 meters high.
When you rent one of our boats, we will explain how it works. We assume you can sail, but if not, we highly recommend taking 1 or 2 sailing lessons! You can add these when booking.

Insurance and Deposit
When renting Mare, you will pay a deposit of €400. This deposit must be paid before departure, and you will receive an email about it five days before arrival. It is also possible to buy off the deductible for 15% of the deductible amount (€95 incl. VAT). You will then be fully insured for any damage resulting from sailing and maneuvering the boat. However, in cases of intentional damage, the deductible will always be charged, even if bought off.
Saltwater and the IJsselmeer
We are proud of our boats and want them to continue sailing for many years. The boats have flat bottoms and cannot handle high waves. For those with little to no experience, the IJsselmeer can be very dangerous. Therefore, sailing on the IJsselmeer is not allowed without prior consultation. Sailing in saltwater is also prohibited.
