Boating with Jort
A day of boating is essential when you’re on vacation in the Lauwersmeer area. From the marina, you can easily access the national park. At Varen met Sil, you can rent a luxury sloop, sturdy launch, or charming boat for a day on the water.
You can rent the boat for a full day, morning, or afternoon:
– Full day: Pick up the boat at 9:00 am and return by 6:00 pm.

Enjoy a day of boating on the Lauwersmeer or towards Dokkum? Rent our sloop Jort. Jort is a luxurious and classic Norwegian sloop, built in 1946 in Grimstad, Norway. It accommodates up to 12 people or 8 adults comfortably. With its sun canopy, Jort is the perfect sloop for a day on the water.
When renting Jort, we take the time to get you started. While boating experience is useful for this boat, we provide explanations and can accompany you if needed. No boating license is required!
The cost for Jort includes diesel. Dogs are allowed onboard.
Insurance and Deposit
When renting Jort, you are required to pay a deposit of €150 euros. This deposit must be paid before departure. You can pay the deposit directly when booking the boat or via the link provided in the booking confirmation.
We expect good seamanship, and deliberate damage will incur the full excess amount.
