Do you want to explore the Wadden Sea with your own boat? Then rent a flat-bottomed boat from us. Within an hour and a half, you will sail through the lock at Lauwersoog. From here, the Wadden Sea is at your feet. You can run aground, visit islands, watch seals, and most importantly, enjoy.
Boat to Schiermonnikoog
From Lauwersoog, you can take the ferry to Schiermonnikoog. You can choose between the ferry service or the fast service. The ferry service takes you to and from the island in 45 minutes. Tip 2: Get into nature!
Besides the water, Lauwersoog is also located in the middle of Lauwersmeer National Park. At the edge of Lauwersoog, you will find forests. In these forests, there are walking routes ranging from 1.5 km to a route of 10 kilometers.

You can enjoy beautiful walks in Lauwersoog. Staatsbosbeheer has set out eleven walking routes ranging from 1.5 to 10 kilometers. Most routes are marked with colored posts. With these walking routes, you will reach the most special places in the area.
Most routes start near Lauwersnest, which is the activity center and the ideal starting point to explore the National Park.

Additionally, there is the gnome path specifically for small children, a nature path for the whole family, a bird experience path, and for the die-hards, a round trip around Lauwersmeer. You can also explore the military training area of Marnewaard on weekends.
