The story of the Wild Goose

Lemsteraak “Wild Goose” was built at the Van Rijnsoever shipyard in Deil in 1994, the design is based on the historical design by de Boer from Lemmer. It is a beautiful aak with the mast on the cabin, creating ample headroom. Both outside and inside, it is a stunning ship. Carefully fitted and furnished. Sailing sharply and beautifully drying out, in short, pure enjoyment on the Wad.

Interior of the Wild Goose

The aak is 10.05 m long, 3.70 m wide and has a draft of 0.85 m and importantly, a headroom of 1.95 m.

The aak has a double bed in the bow on the port side and two single beds in the form of a bunk bed on the starboard side. In the galley, the benches can be converted into two more single beds. This allows six people to sleep on board.

In the cabin, you will find the 4-burner gas stove, a spacious refrigerator, hot air heating, and of course a fully equipped kitchen.

In terms of technology, the Wild Goose lacks nothing: a 48 hp Bukh 3-cylinder marine diesel provides propulsion when the wind dies down or when maneuvering in the harbor.

With a draft of only 0.85 m and a “flat” bottom, it is very suitable for the shallower waters such as the Wadden Sea and the Frisian lakes. Drying out on the Wad is always a special experience, and due to its shallow draft, a large part of the Wad can be sailed.
