Frequently Asked Questions

Each boat has its own page and schedule. Through this schedule, you can book a boat. You select the number of people, then a start and end date, and click next. In this step, you can add any extras, such as a Marrekrite flag, life jackets, a dog, or bedding. Fill in your details at the bottom and click on book. You will then have the option to pay via iDEAL, SOFORT, or Bancontact.

To rent our flat-bottomed boats or sloops, you must be at least 21 years old.

To rent a sloop or flat-bottomed boat from us, you do not need a boating license. If you would like more explanation, you can order extra sailing lessons with your booking.

Sailing experience is required for our flat-bottomed boats.

It is advisable to reserve in advance. You can check availability on the website. If you want to go sailing today, please contact us by phone. We will discuss the possibilities.

Within 7 days of booking, you pay 25% of the rental amount. This is the first deposit.

50 days before your sailing holiday, you will receive a reminder from us for the remaining 75%. You then have a week to transfer this part to us. 

5 days before departure, you will receive an email from us about the deposit. You can transfer this to us.

Within 7 days after your sailing holiday, you will receive your deposit back from us.

If you book within 50 days of departure, you will pay the entire rental amount at once.

We use the cancellation conditions of Hiswa. The following conditions apply:

For motorboats and flat-bottomed boats

1. If the consumer wishes to cancel the rental agreement, they must inform the entrepreneur as soon as possible in writing or electronically. If the consumer cancels, the entrepreneur may claim a fixed (set) compensation of: 

1. • –  15% of the agreed rental amount for cancellation up to 3 months before the start of the rental period:
   • – 50% of the agreed rental amount for cancellation up to 2 months before the start of the rental period:
   • –  75% of the agreed rental amount for cancellation up to 1 month before the start of the rental period:
   • –  100% of the agreed rental amount for cancellation within 1 month before the start of the rental period or on the start date of the rental period.
     For all mentioned compensation amounts, a minimum of € 65,- applies.

For sloops

If the consumer cancels a rental agreement with a rental amount of € 250,- or less, different compensation amounts apply than those mentioned in paragraph 1. In these cases, the entrepreneur may claim a fixed (set) compensation of:

• • –  10% of the agreed rental amount for cancellation up to 1 week before the start of the rental period;
  • –  50% of the agreed rental amount for cancellation up to 2 days before the start of the rental period;
  • –  100% of the agreed rental amount for cancellation within 2 days before the start of the rental period.

1. If the consumer cancels a rental agreement, they can ask the entrepreneur if another person may take over the agreement via a ‘substitution’. If the entrepreneur agrees, the consumer is liable for modification costs. These modification costs amount to 10% of the agreed rental amount, with a minimum of € 45.50 and a maximum of € 113.50.

Always contact us by phone in case of cancellation. This way, we ensure that the cancellation goes smoothly for both parties.

You can pay via iDEAL, SOFORT, or Bancontact on the website. Additionally, you can also pay via bank transfer.

Almost all boats run on diesel. This is not included in the rental price. You leave with a full tank and can refill the tank at the harbor at the end of the rental period.

The maximum capacity varies per boat. Below is a list:

Flat-bottomed boats

Jondalar – 2 to 4 people

Wilde Gans – 2 to 6 people

De Mossel – 2 to 6 people

Yes, pets are allowed on board. When you make a booking, you can indicate this in the extras. Please keep in mind that not every pet enjoys sailing and that the animal must be lifted in and out of the boat.

We expect the ship to be tidy and in its place at the agreed time. We expect:

• Full water and diesel tanks
• Covers for the sails, winch, and cuckoo
• The ship is tidy and the dishes are done. 

Cleaning costs will be automatically charged, see booking

 You pay a deposit for the rental. You will receive an email about this five days before arrival. 

If the boat is damaged, we will deduct the damage amount from the deposit. Our rate for work is € 50 per hour. The price for materials will also be charged.

Yes, with every booking, we take the time to help you get started and provide you with an explanation about the boat. If you need sailing lessons or a flat-bottomed boat course, you can add this to your booking or contact us.

Yes, life jackets are available. In our sloops, you will find life jackets for youth/adults. Are you sailing with children? Please let us know the size upon arrival, and you will receive the correct life jacket.

Are you going sailing? Then you can rent automatic life jackets. 

Yes, our boats are not allowed to sail everywhere.

⟦T4Flat-bottomed boats:

Our flat-bottomed boats are insured for Dutch inland waters, the Wadden Sea, and also the German Wadden Sea. Therefore, sailing outside this area is not permitted.

Sloops:

Our sloops may only sail on inland waters; they are not allowed on the Wadden Sea.

On board our flat-bottom boats, you do not always have power. There are 12-volt connections. You can use or charge your small electrical devices with this.

With normal use and when you use the engine for several hours a day, the boat has enough power for 2 days. This means you can spend two nights without shore power. On the third night, you will need to find a place with a power connection so that the batteries can be recharged.

Note! Devices such as a coffee maker, cooler, or kettle cannot be used on the boat. These consume a lot of power in a short period, causing the batteries to drain.
The Mussel
The Mussel has an inverter and a separate electrical system
starting battery and house battery, and an alarm if you are consuming too much power.
Wild Goose
On board the Wild Goose, there is no inverter. With shore power, there is 220 on board. Without shore power, there is only a 12V connection
Sun
Sun has an inverter on board and has a separate electrical system: starting battery and house battery! and also an alarm for excessive power consumption.
Jondalar
Jondalar has no inverter on board.
Blauburd
This has an inverter and a separate electrical system
starting battery and house battery, and an alarm if you are consuming too much power.
Anna-Lynn

Our flat-bottom boats all have water tanks. These vary between 100 and 200 liters. You can use the water from these tanks for washing dishes, making tea or coffee, or washing your hands. We do not recommend using this water as drinking water.

There is no hot water on board.

With a 100-liter tank, you can last 4 days with normal use. If you pass by a marina in the meantime, refill the tank to ensure you have enough water with you.

You can order linen of your choice when booking your holiday (for a fee), and we will ensure it is available on the boat.

In the Wild Goose, there is a cooling compartment. In Jondalar, there is a cooler; the rest of the flat-bottom boats have a refrigerator

Yes, all boats have a stove. This can run on gas or spirit. Jondalar is the flat-bottom boat with a spirit stove.

Yes, there is a standard chart on board for the Dutch Wadden Sea. Do you want to go to the German Wadden Sea? Let us know, and we will also include this chart on the boat.

There are no automatic life jackets on board as standard. You can book these per person.
