From there, you&#8217;ll travel via the Dokkumer Diep and through the lock onto the Dokkumer Ee towards Dokkum. Dokkum is the first of the Eleven Cities you&#8217;ll encounter. You can moor along the ramparts or right in the city center. You&#8217;ll pass through the villages of Burdaard, Bartlehiem, Wyns, and Lekkum. In Leeuwarden, keep to the right. You&#8217;ll pass by the Prinsentuin, Leeuwarden&#8217;s park. Here, you can moor and easily explore the city. Leeuwarden is the capital of Friesland and marks the end of the Frisian ice skating Eleven Cities Tour. Follow this waterway until you reach Grou. From here, continue along the Princess Margriet Canal to the Sneekermeer. Large ships also navigate here, and they always have priority.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Cross the lake towards Terherne. This village is famous from the Kameleon films and offers plenty to explore.<\/p>\n<p>From Terherne, take the inland route to Akkrum, another watersports village. From Akkrum, navigate via the Zijlroede and the Burstummerrak to the Wide Ie. From there, you&#8217;ll enter the Alde Feanen National Park. This waterway eventually leads to Dokkumer Nieuwe Zijlen.<\/p>\n<h2>Tips:<\/h2>\n<p>Bring some extra small change for bridges, water, and showers. Typically, you&#8217;ll need 50-cent coins for the machines.<\/p>\n<p>Most marinas have toilets and showers. Here, you can moor and easily explore the city. Leeuwarden is the capital of Friesland and marks the end of the Frisian ice skating Eleven Cities Tour.
